I upgraded dedicated servers twice when one of my sites has increased significantly in traffic: on the day of elections site I saw over 100,000 visitors, although upgrading servers is still quite a lot of crashed the server! good news is the site was almost 400 daily AdSense (above the $ 3,000/month AdSense), the bad news is that after the elections the movement die within days

For periods above my monthly average costs of a dedicated server was around 120 dollars a month, about 100 domains domain fee at about US $ 10 per year per year, so the total yearly costs are under $ 2,500 of May 2010 cost as a dedicated server is 300 a month, so if I save the current dedicated server to my costs rise above $4,000 year (still not much considering probably make over $ 60 K this year from Web sites).
